We bought VINETA after seeing her at the 2002 Neumunster Elite Mare auction in Germany where she showed elegance, lovely movement, and a beautiful "look". (Thank you Maren and Klaus Engelhardt, and Mr.and Mrs. Niemeyer). In the spring of 2003, she was presented for her Mare Approvals, where she earned Premium status with 56 points, plus the Reserve Champion title.

VINETA was bred to the lovely black Trakehner stallion ALTER FRITZ, and then was imported to Canada in the fall of 2003.

In March 2004, VINETA produced a handsome black colt, VICEROY. (see sales horses).

VINETA had a lovely filly by DE LUXE June 29th, 2006. Both VINETA and her filly DE VINE were inspected and approved by the Oldenburg Verband in August, 2006. DE VINE earned a premium status and VINETA was entered into the Main Mare Book with very good marks. VINETA is now going under saddle again. She is easy to ride and is forward without being too hot. She has lovely balance and 3 very good gaits. VINETA showed in 2008 in the baby green hunters and did very well, winning some classes. She is very brave to the jumps and could also be a nice event horse with some more training. In the fall of 2010 we started concentrating more on dressage with her. After only 3 weeks with a dressage rider she went to her first dressage show and scored mid 60's in her 2 training level tests. She is very sound with clean floroscope results and strong feet. She does not wear shoes at this time. VINETA is an excellent all round sport horses prospect. She is a very mild cribber (controlled with a collar) which is why we have reduced her price to well under her actual value.

Sire Line:
VINETA's sire is the handsome dark bay stallion EXCLUSIV, owned by the Langels' Haemelschenburg Stud. He has won many Young Horse Riding Tests, and now is training for upper level dressage. He has a lovely character, wonderful movement, and high rideability. EXCLUSIV has so far produced a number of outstanding riding horses, such as KAPRIOLAN F, an Approved Premium stallion who is now showing at Grand Prix dressage; and TWIST, a National level event horse.

EXCLUSIV has also produced many outstanding premium daughters, such as SCHWALBENLIED, who is dam of the Approved Premium Stallion SHAVALOU, and THALIA, reserve champion at her Mare Performance Test.

EXCLUSIV's sire is the former eventing champion STARWAY. STARWAY was the winner of the qualifications for the Bundeschampionat for young breed event horses in 1994 and 1995. In the final in 1994, he placed 2nd overall.

EXCLUSIV's dam is the lovely State Premium mare ELYSEE II, champion of three year old mares in 1986, with the marks 9,8,8,9,9.

Dam Line:
VINETA's dam is VIOLETTA, a pretty dark brown mare with lots of movement and implusion. VIOLETTA's sire is the wonderful KOSTOLANY by ENRICO CARUSO. KOSTOLANY was Grand Champion at his Stallion Approvals in 1987. He passed an impressive 100 day test and won up to the FEI levels in dressage. He has sired 8 approved sons, including Champion stallion EH GRIBALDI, Premium stallion TOLSTOI, and Premium stallion SILVERMOON. KOSTOLANY is also well known for his successful daughters who have won many championships; and a large number of performance horses, who have won everything from eventing to jumpers to the highest level in dressage.

VIOLETTA's dam, VENUS, is a MOZART daughter.

MOZART was the Reserve Champion of the 1975 Neumunster Trakehner Approvals, and was Champion of his Performance Test in 1976. He later went on to a successful FEI level dressage career, and was used as an improver stallion in the Dutch Warmblood breed. He was Dutch National Dressage Champion 3 times, and has left behind a number of important stallions and mares. MOZART was sired by GUNNAR, an important and influential stallion who was widely used throughout Europe, producing more than 80 studbook mares and 131 approved sons in various warmblood registries.

VINETA's dam line of VERA has produced some excellent performance horses, such as the Grand Prix stallion EH VAN DEYK; the former Trakehner Show Jumper Champion VELASQUEZ; and the gelding VILANO, a member of the German eventing team at the 2002 World Equestrian Games.
